It's right here. Just study every single thing about the way the main character talks, as well as the incredibly awkward dialogue, and do the exact opposite. You should be fine.

I think that there are few peoples who love school, but I, I love go school to see friends, and also people, because I'm very bored alone in my house, and it's nice to see someone

Me too I like when I'm alone in my house, but only sometimes, since 2 days it's just horrible !!
School is nice for me, because I have good marks, but I'm happy to have some holidays, to take a breath ( "respirer", I don't fnow how write this word )

I love school, i love to wake up at 6, walk, take the bus, i like my little routine (yes yes it's the english word ) ! Okay it might seem quite weird but i dun love to be alone at my place, with computer or tv, it's not that, that i love, it's not really school who interest me, it's the friends i can see, the atmosphere (yes yes it's the word for "ambiance" quite weird LOL) and it's all, but i think the real question do you love WORK in school and for myelf, NO ! What worst ? Seriously, even if i have to wor about something i love i dun enjoy at all !

I've a question. I' trying to translate one of Erin Hunter's Interview and I don't understand this sentence : "With 10 books in the series and more titles on the way, the cat-clan craze is sweeping the ’tween set." Especially, the last words "the ’tween set". Anybody can help me ? (:

I think it's something like " Avec 10 livres dans la série et encore plus de titres, la folie du clan des chats balaie les jeux niais " I don't know TWEEN at all i think it doesn't exist but i know that twee is a real word so maybe it was this word in your interview, no ? It mean mièvre, niais...

Tween doesn't really exist, but it's use and it means "entre" if I remember. So "tween set" could be "entre jeu". I think we can reflect to find a better translation but I have to go to shchool ^^'

Sorry, I don't know some sentences beacause I'm eleven only....

"Tween" isn't really a real word, so it's a bit awkward to define, and I don't know of any French equivalent.

The word itself is some kind of mash-up between "teenager" and "between". It refers to people about 10-12 years old since they are beTWEEN being a little kid and a TEENager.

And set isn't really used to mean "jeu" here; it's basically referring to the tweens as a group. Like a set of people. For a translation, I'm thinking something along the lines of "parmi les jeunes"

Actually, you can say "ambiance" in English, too, although it's generally considered to be a more "fancy" word. Actually, when you look at it, that applies to a lot of French-inspired English words. Like, most people would just say "improve", but if you really want to show off your vocabulary, you say "ameliorate".

Oh ! It's intrusting to know that english words seem than french words, I didn't know these translations before you say it

I'd know that some french words give english words cause Richard Coeur de Lion became an English king even if he was French so he give a lot of french words with the years transforming in english one, i find it's a cool story but just a few people know it. I mean we hear more that many english words are in our french language, but hellooo it's the opposite !

Heh-heh, no problem.

Yeah, I seem to recall reading something like that somewhere... English basically started off as a combination of old French and Anglo-Saxon German, so yeah, the influences from both languages can be seen. For example, we get "curfew" from "couvre-feu".

Another little bit of French that snuck into English that I like is "inevitable", since you don't really notice the "éviter" hiding in there at first.

Tomorrow, for my "show and tell", I decided to present to my class Bluestar's Prophecy
Here, my presentation (my mother didn't already correct it, so I think that they are some mistakes ^^)

Citation :

I would like to present you a book form one of my favourite collection : Bluestar's Prophecy.
The name of this english collection, written by Erin Hunter, is "Warriors", and talk about the life of 4 wild cats's Clans in the forest : ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan.
There 4 Clans leave in peace, but with sometimes wars for territory, or querels about food.
In each Clan, there is a special organisation, with a leader, a deputy, a medecine cat, warriors, apprentices, queens with their kitten, and olders.
So this book talk about Bluestar, the ThunderClan's leader, from her born until her death, and the role she was to play for help her Clan.
It's one of the 5 special edition of this very big collection. They are actually 23 books written in english, with guides, special editions, and mangas ; but only 13 books traduced in french.
That's the reason why I choose now to start reading the books in english, and also to improve my english level.
I really like the books, because there are lot of actions, the principle of the books is very intrusting, and the characters are very "attachants".
Some people will say that it's only for young people, but I know some lectors that have more than 20 years old and really like this collection

So, what do you think about it ?
